30 Weeks!!!

30 weeks is a milestone for me. Not sure why exactly. It's just a number, but nonetheless I'm quite glad and relieved that we've reached it. Only about 10 more weeks to go!

I'm feeling pretty good, though I'm beginning to feel exhausted most of the time. I think I've spent more time in bed during my pregnancy than I ever have before. I wasn't much a of nap taker before, but I LOVE and need them now!

My hair is almost a couple of inches shorter here. It definately feels shorter to me, but it's not really a big enough difference that people would notice. I'm thinking I may go shorter and shorter. Who knows; we'll see. I should have thought about this before the summer!

It's so hot! I never really believed anyone when they kept saying how horrible it will be that I'll be pregnant during the hot summer months. I didn't think it was going to be anything bad, I love summer. But I've began to see what they're talking about. I tend to only feel comfortable when the AC is on full blast and everyone else is saying its cold. However, we don't have AC in our apartment. We live in the basement so it tends to be cooler naturally, but not cool enough. I'm dyin' in here. The 2 other floors have their own swamp cooler, but we don't have one. We have our celing fan and other fans on full blast and it's still hot!

I was telling Skyler just the other night how unprepared I feel. Really, the only aspect where I feel prepared is that mentally I'm ready to be a mom. I'm ready for this new journey in my life. I am SO ready. I've known I've wanted this my whole life. I can't believe the time for that is just about here. But I feel unprepared for his arrival in just about every other way. I feel my knowledge of caring for helpless human being is completely inadequate. But then again nobody is truely prepared until you're thrown into it. I know that all I can do is my best and take it as it comes, and ask my mom millions of questions!;)

San Diego

Last month we took a road trip down to San Diego with Skyler's sister, C'era. It was a very brief trip with a very long car ride. I had never driven to Cali before and I hope to avoid ever having to do that again, especially while pregnant. Saturday was jam packed. In the morning we all (including Skyler's mom who flew in the night before) went to the San Diego temple for C'era to receive her endowments. It was as beautiful as I imagined. Such a beautiful temple.

4th of July weekend

Dad decided to do things a little different this year for the 4th of July. On July 3rd, he took us all to Pineview reservoir to do some jet skiing. Though I couldn't jet ski this year it was still nice to just relax on the lakes beach with mom.

After the lake, we went to the condo where we'd be staying for the night. McKenzie had to be taken home before dinner so she could get ready to be in some of the parades. She had to be up at 4am! We had dinner and watched a movie on the wall courtesy of the projector Skyler brought up. It was nice. It was almost like we were in a movie theater. Here's the view from the back of the condo. It was so peaceful here!

Here was our room

In the morning there were hot air balloons flying all over the sky.

We usually have breakfast in Kaysville every year but this year we tried out the breakfast that the city of Huntsville has on the 4th. I hope I don't scare you too much without make-up.

And here she is in all her glory! Kenzie in the color guard for Davis High! We were so giddy to see her. We were bummed that they weren't doing their moves when they were passing us, but it was fun to see her.

Here's video we got of her as well. Yeah, that's mom screaming in the background.

The boys lighting some fireworks

our delicious dinner. The best part was the grilled corn on the cob. My favorite.

This year we went to watch the fireworks on the lawn at the church. I failed to bring my tripod so we used the camera bag to stabilize the camera, but it was too awkward for me to be on my stomach so these very cool pictures were taken by Skyler. I love fireworks! I enjoyed feeling baby kick a ton while they were going off.

Baby Shower

I can't believe it's taken me so long to post this. It's been exactly one month since my baby shower so I think it's about time. A friend of mine was going to be in town and wanted to throw me a shower while she was here. Turns out over half the people that were invited were not able to attend. One friend even broke her foot the day before! But it turned out to be so much fun! We played some fun games, ate, and opened some gifts. I had such a fun time. Thanks everyone!

Afterwards we stopped by to admire the new Okur Mountain temple, just down the road a bit. The open house was going on so there were lots of people there. It just looked beautiful next to the awesome blue sky. What an awesome night.

I love Waffles

I've been meaning to try this new waffle place for a while now. I found out about it through following a local photog's blog. We were finally able to go and try it out a few weeks ago. We went on a Saturday while the Farmer's Market was going on so it was busy but surprisingly it didn't take too long to get our food. It's called Bruges Waffles & Frites. I ordered the vanilla waffle with Belgian chocolate and strawberries and Skyler got a cinnamon waffle with their special cream. Turns out I liked his waffle better. I give this place a thumbs up, especially for it charm. Next time we'll have to try the frites.
