St. George weekend

The first weekend in November my mom asked me if I would like to go down to St. George with her to support Kenzie in her band competition. She is in the colorguard. Davis High was one of many bands that were competing in St. George. I debated about going. I loved the idea of getting out of the house! But I knew that a road trip would be lots of work. I decided to go for it. We ended up leaving much later than expected because it took me forever to get things ready for a roadtrip with a baby!



My dads brothers family live in St. George and they offered up their community guest house for us to stay at while we were in St. George. This was by far the best part about the trip. This was so much nicer than staying at a hotel. We had a whole house to ourselves! The house had 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, workout area, and a very large, open living room. It also had a nice walking path right behind the house on the red rock. Mom went on a walk with Westin. I didn't go. I stayed back to sleep! We were so grateful that they allowed us to stay there. We were tempted to stay longer than the weekend!

McKenzie performed at Dixie College with the Davis High School Band. We got there late because I had to feed Westin but just barely in time to watch her peform. I love to watch her do her thing. She's a great performer whether she's doing flag, or signing, etc.

The Duncan family invited us over for a treat Saturday night and showed us around their very lovely home. Such a warm cozy home. You could really feel the spirit so strongly. They also invited us over for lunch on Sunday afternoon. We had some dessert, did some chatting, and we were able to play a fun game as well. It was fun getting to know my cousins who I don't get to see very often. Thanks for having us!

Autumn Strolls

I took many walks with Westin before the weather turned much colder. My mom got me started. She came up once or twice a week and we went up for long walks up at Memory Grove, just up road from where we live. Skyler and I have been on small walks to the park many many times but I rarely ever went up on the long road that is in the park until now. Now I go to the end of the road all the time. It's so much more fun to walk with a baby! Sometimes after our walk we would grab some lunch at the Lion House. Love that place! So good!

Happy Thanksgiving...

A little bit belated, but I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and that you were able to spend time with those you love. We've been having a great time with some of Skyler's family who are in town for Westin's baby blessing. This Thanksgiving was probably the best I've ever had. I was surrounded by so many people that I love and care about and of course as an added bonus we had Westin with us this year. His first Thanksgiving was wonderful. I will hopefully blog more about our day later. I am grateful for my new little family, and the rest of my wonderful family and friends. I love and appreciate you all in my life.

I love this thing. It's sooo nice to be able to hold him close and still have my hands free. I've made dinners lots of times while wearing it as well. He pretty much demands to be held. He doesn't like being by himself. Now if I only looked as good as she does wearing it. I haven't been using it as much lately because my back is killing me. I don't think I'm going to attribute the back pain to this product because I'm pretty sure it started before I got this thing. I had lower back pain in the later part of my pregnancy. Now it's more mid back. I'm not sure what is causing it. Perhaps I can attribute it to carring a baby around all day? Maybe it's my bad posture? I'm trying to work on that. Or maybe it's from lack of sleep? I don't know, maybe a mix of these things. Maybe it's time to ask for a back massage from my masseuse husband! Though a Chiropractor is probably what I need.

Addicted

It's that time of year again where I show how little self-control I have. I think I'm on my third Egg Nog this week. How gross is that? Pretty gross. Not just because it's Egg Nog, the name itself is gross, but becuse it's bad for you. Though I'm chugging the "light", it's packed with calories and fat. This is NOT helping me loose the baby weight. In fact it's doing the oposite. If you don't like this stuff, Consider yourself lucky!

Dear Westin,

I love to cuddle together. I love the funny noises you make and how squirmy your face looks when you're waking up from a nap. I love how mooshy you get after you eat. I love your sleeping smiles. I love to kiss the back of your soft head. I love you.

Family in the Fall

Here are some of our first family pictures together! I was so excited to get some pictures of our new little family. I asked McKenzie if she would take pictures for us. She is in photo class in high school and I figured it would give her some experience while she was at it! We kept Westin covered wrapped up in a blanket because it got pretty cold! Thanks Kenz!
