Cupcake delight

I made cupcakes for McKenzies birthday yesterday. I love having an excuse to make cupcakes and to experiment a little. Not that I really need one, but that way I don't eat sweets all the time! They were chocolate fudge cupcakes with a cream cheese filling and cream cheese frosting.

They were so good! My family loved them! All but two of them were eaten by the time we left last night which is a good sign.

Farewell Brad!!!

Today we dropped Bradley off at the airport. I am really going to miss him. But I am so proud of him. He is such an amazing guy. People flock to him. Us as a family couldn't get a moment alone with him last night because he had a continuous flow of friends coming to bid him farewell. He is so loved and he gives off so much love. Even though you can't see this, good luck Brad and see ya in 2 years!!!

New post!

New post on NFP!

Bradley's farewell talk was last Sunday. Skyler and I sat front and center (almost). I wanted to be able to see him up close and Skyler probably wanted to be able to make faces at him. There was another missionary speaking also. Brad gave an awesome talk. It was an emotional sacrament meeting for me.

Then we went to the house for some grub. My mom took the pressure off herself of making the main course by ordering lots of Cafe Rio. That went over quite well. Then she slaved in the kitchen making endless desserts. Other kind souls brought other dishes as well, so there was plenty of delicious food. I took lots of pictures for brad, but here are a few of the occasion.

He leaves Tuesday. I'll probably post more pictures then if I don't look like a cry baby in them.

(about me) Facts of the day

I had an awesome day at work.

I'm too lazy to make dinner tonight (and most of the time for that matter).

I just want to eat out. I'm sad we've already spent so much money eating out this week that we can't go out when the weekend comes!

I wish our apartment wasn't so freezing lately!

I'm happy I bought some hawt jeans today!

I'm disappointed that I saw a gorgeous hazy sunset on my way home from work that was just calling my name to get a picture, but I was too exhausted to grab the camera and go back out. bleh

On New Years day the all of us went up to Snowbasin. Some of us went snowboarding and some went snowtubbing.

Celebrating the New Year

We rang in the new year with a few friends, Cassie and Alec. We ate a monster pizza, played some games and watched the ball drop in New York on tv. Thanks for celebrating with us!

Out to lunch

Some friends of mine and I were able to get together for lunch at Mimi's Cafe while they were in town for the holidays. It was nice to be able to catch up!

Christmas at the Cooks

The day after Christmas we went to my grandparents, my dads parents, to celebrate some more Christmas.

Grandma and Grandpa looking at the photobook we gave them for Christmas

The Duncan Family taking a look too

I made grandpa hold up the back of the box for me. This picture makes me laugh. I love it.

Christmas

Christmas was so wonderful this year. Skyler and I worked Christmas eve day. After work Skyler took a nap and I cleaned so that we would come home to a clean house. Have to come home to a clean house! Then we did a tiny bit of last minute shopping at Target, because Walmart was closed! Go Walmart! (Never thought I'd say that.) Then we went over to my family's house for a Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas story and singing by McKenzie. We stayed overnight. Natalie and Tony also stayed over.

Come Christms monring I was surprised when I got this!...

I had been hoping for a better quality compact camera. My other one was terrible.

Skyler got some nice shirts and slacks. I got him a nice leather wallet. His other wallet was so old and was really looking tacky. I also got him some necessary items to keep him warm on his walks to the bus stop. He didn't even have a warm coat or winter boots, etc. So he got some of that kind of stuff.

The highlight of my Christmas morning was when my dad had my mom, my sister, and myself sit together and pulled out a piece of paper from an envelope and began reading to us. He began to tell us that come March, were were going to be embarking on a cruise to Belize, Costa Maya, and Guatemala to see some possible ancient Book of Mormon sites. As he read on, my mom became tearful. When I saw her reaction, I did the same. It was a wonderful moment because my mom had been talking about wanting to do this for such a long time. I knew how much it ment to her. We are incredibly excited! I know that it won't come fast enough! Though I have a lot to do to get ready for it. I don't even have a passport!

There was a hawk outside of their kitchen window... Kinda cool.

We spent part of the evening at my grandparents house.
