The Big Red Velvety Couch

Hey, that should be the name of a blog. Hurry, you better use it before I do!

We met up at the Lion House for dinner to celebrate Grandpa Cook's birthday, among other January celebrations. It was fun and I think everyone was there (except Nat and Tony who were in Chicago). After dinner and socializing, every family had their picture taken with the big velvety red sofa.

Westin and Duncan (my cousins little one)
They are so close in age!

The cake I made for Brad's homecoming lunch.
This is my favorite chocolate cake (and icing) recipe. I made it for Skyler's b-day last year.
I can't look at it without wishing I had the real thing in front of me right now.
Just look at that icing just oozing!

Waiting For Forever

Some of you may or may not remember my post a few years ago about the film crew who were filming scenes for a movie in the area in front of and next door to where we were living in Salt Lake.
Well, here it is!

View the trailer here

It's supposed to be coming to theater in a few days (Feb 4th), limited, so I'm not sure it will in local theaters here (in Utah) or not. I may have to wait to rent it, who knows. I just really want to see the locations they filmed at really. Not so sure I'd care about the movie otherwise. I guess we'll see!

Bradley's Return!

My younger brother Bradley, returned from his mission in Porto Alegre, Brazil a few weeks ago. We felt a big void when he was gone, so we were incredibly happy to get him back home.

Here are some pictures of his big arrival at the airport.

All of us screamed (well maybe just the girls) when we saw him turn the corner.
Hugging mom!
Skyler and Brad
Brad meeting his first nephew for the first time.
Westin didn't give him a big welcome. He was pretty confused about all the excitement.
 Welcome home!
I'm very proud of the sign I made, though the "N" at the very end bothers me so much I have a hard time looking at it.
Admiring his picture on the wall.
And I don't have any pictures, but while he was gone, my mom gave his bedroom a makeover. He loved it!

Brad stopped by to visit our place a few days later.
Brad at our place after a long day of snowboarding.
Westin warmed up pretty quickly.
Now their good buddies!
It's good to have him home:)
